Does the second guy not 'get' it? He says it's his 7th Euros, and it's the same old... I've been watching tournaments since the 1982 World Cup in Spain, and England play the same way. It's not a slight on them, it's their level. England fans, and more so the media, needs to understand that. Since 1982, i've seen England play better than they have this year, on a handful of occasions. They very occasionally play above themselves, and look quite impressive. That is very much the exception, rather than the rule. England have not surprised me at this tournament. They've performed exactly how i expected them to, and it's nothing to do with Southgate. Indeed, he's actually had England performing above their standard in the last 2 or 3 tournaments - Semi Final of the World Cup in 2018, Final of the Euros in 2020(1), Quarter Final of World Cup 2022. They over performed particularly in the 2020(1) Euros, but once more, as Neville mentioned the other night, they ended up in the easy half of the draw, as they always do. That's what inflates their performance at tournaments. They tend to qualify, get the easy draw, sneak through, eventually (either at Quarter Final, or occasionally Semi Final), meet a team who's better than them, and get knocked out. Even this year, they're in the easiest half of the draw. They could reach the Final again, and play ordinary teams along the way. They'll then lose the Final to either France, Spain, or Germany, and it'll be the same old inquisition as to what they have to do to win something. Well, i would suggest they have to hope all the big guns get knocked out, and somehow a minnow sneaks their way to the Final. That's the only way England will ever win anything.

We should have asked Klopp to take it on as soon as the domestic season was done just for the Euros. Even with that limited prep time he'd have had England playing great attacking stuff.

We showed next to no threat in three games. We got trounced in one game, drew another when we went very physical (verging on dirty) and failed to turn possession into chances in another. Any neutral watching us play won't miss our team. It's a shame because we've been better. We look like a team that need fresh ideas.

Alan Hansen was a real baller and one of the most complete footballers in the history of the game.. defensive players struggle to get the real respect they are due with very few defenders being recognised.. Complete players in their positions, Ruud Gullit, Zidane, Maldini, Brazilian Ronaldo and Socrates, the list goes on for a few good men.. If Alan Hansen was Brazilian, German or Argentinians main defender there would be no questions.. I really do think he would have made it in to any team of his generation.

I know that 4 points was what so many people talked about to get through the group, but I think this is the problem: Calculating the LEAST POSSIBLE amount of points and goals to get out of a group stage or qualify for a tournament. It hampers us and makes us accept mediocre and piss poor performances. We should have went into the tournament wanting 6 points and nothing less. Maybe then we'd have attacked more in all three matches, and at least pretended we wanted to challenge for the ball against Germany. Maybe we would have taken shots in the games and set fed Adams with enough balls to make a go at net. Instead we were fearful in the game against Germany, didn't go for a win against Switzerland, and then had talk about qualifying with 2 points and maths going into the Hungary match. We need to have higher standards - not just "YES! we qualified" otherwise we will never be a competitive team and will continue to put up embarrassing results like we have in the past 2 Euros now. Scotland should never be the worst team in a major tournament. Never.

"Disappointment" was spot on. But also, the fans were amazing. Being a part of that coming from the US was once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience. We took over the cities before and after the matches, and in a GOOD way. Germans kept saying how great we were, they were even also disappointed that we were knocked out because as fans we brought a GREAT atmosphere to the cities and matches we played in. If nothing else, the fans and the moments before and after the matches were unimaginable in the best way possible.

Should have won this match, but we still didn't attack as a team that wanted to win. We were fortunate with the own gaol / deflection. We should have attacked more and taken some chances. He's so happy with a draw. This is the problem with Scottish football: Satisfaction with mediocrity.

That Jihn McGinn song got REALLY old, REALLY quick in Germany. As a fan, I really hoped we'd have seen more from him (and others on the team), but as he continued to do nothing on the field, the song became more and more of a joke sadly. Maybe it was the amount of pressure it put on McGinn, but that's the role.

We didn't score any goals - 2 own goals isn't "scoring goals". We didn't create chances. We didn't even attack or challenge the opposition. At least be honest and accept the mistakes you made as manager, and the complete lack of skill we have in our team. It was heart-wrenchingly disappointing watching these three matches in Germany.

I can only stress that the ~ 250,000 Scottish fans left a very good impression with everyone I spoke with here in Germany. The video clip of two boys in kilts helping a German granny crossing the street in pouring rain went viral. Compare that to the English fans that we know already very well: German police usually shows up with mounted riot forces then … So, yes, Scotland crashed out but at least they spread a lot of love & fun before that and served their country very well, all in all. Football is always more than just kicking a ball, isn't it?
